What this Museum is about:
A National Museum to honor the work of Native Women from North America that will include: painters, potters, sculptors, weavers, jewelers, beaders, dancers, musicians, film-makers, poets, writers and more
The Women represented will be Native by birth with eligibility open to any female able to verify Native ancestry within 3 generations
As you enter, you will walk through Pablita’s actual studio and the changing display of her original artwork
A large permanent display of Helen Hardin’s work
The Roxanne Swentzell Sculpture Garden will showcase this incredible Artist as well as other sculpture Artists
Permanent displays will include: pottery, textiles, baskets, sculpture, paintings, literary and media arts including performance shows in the Museum Theater
Regular exhibits will feature Native Women Artists of all art forms
The Museum store will sell Native Women’s work, as well as publications, CDs, and DVDs about and by Native Women
The print making operation of Pablita Velarde prints and editions will be transferred to the Museum from Golden Dawn Gallery
The Publishing Company – “Little Standing Spruce Publishing” will be transferred to the Museum from Golden Dawn Gallery, and will become the Museum’s press
An Education Outreach will increase awareness in schools of important Native Women Artists
Artist in Residence program will support Native Women Artist development
